Umetal & Custeel MD Visits Chadormalu Mine in Iran

UMETAL-CHINA, Mr. Yang Yongliang, managing director with Umetal & Custeel, together with other two colleagues, visited one of the largest iron ore mines in Middle East - Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Co. (CMIC), accompanied by several Iranian friends. In contrast with the desolated and bleak scene in the desert along the road, the mining area is much more vigorous with floral design of trees, bushes and flowers. The more impressed is living facilities around the mining area, including cinemas, multipurpose gymnasium, basketball museums, horse-riding padlock, café shop, swimming pool, etc., which far dwarfs the world’s four largest mines.

The Umetal people visited the main ore body, the crushing mill, the beneficiation mill, the tailings pond and the office area, guided by Mr. O.A. Rahmani, production manager with Chadormalu. Chadormalu, with a production capacity of 10 million tonnes per annum, consists of two open-pit ore bodies in the northern and southern zones respectively. After blending the hematite ore with the magnetite ore, the 67%-Fe iron ore concentrate will be finally generated.

Noticeably, 50 million tonnes of 28-33%-Fe tailings are piled at stocks, and Chadormalu hopes to find an investment partner from China and jointly processing those tailings by using China’s high-end magnetic separation technology.

After the visit, Umetal learned that the Chadormalu has standard and orderly production and management, and strong cultural ambience. The employers regard their company as their family and are quite enthusiastic, which deserves to be learned from by the Chinese mines.
